Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Visitor Centre

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is a major landmark, place of worship and tourist attraction in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates.

Beyond the Mosque are its Visitor Centre (below ground) and Plaza (above ground). The facilities they offer visitors include amenities, food and beverage, and limited exclusive retail.

The above-ground landscape layout follows a strict geometry. The new glass domes stand in large rectangular reflection pools with a wide seating edge around the outer perimeter.

Once the groves of trees in and around the Plaza mature, they will create masses that frame views of the domes and to the Mosque. Another enhancement is that they will provide shade to the seating laid out around the Plaza, as an inviting way to accommodate the high numbers of visitors.
