Dubai Waterfront CBD

By anyone’s standards, the Dubai Waterfront master development was a major project. Through land reclamation, it formed new islands and reshaped the Dubai coastline.

Within the Waterfront CBD precinct is a new square-shaped island with high-density, mixed-use development. Streets follow an urban grid for the start of a new city precinct. It was through the project’s considerable needs for landscape design – including streetscapes, urban plazas, parks and waterfronts – that Verdaus became involved.

On the foreshore facing the new island is a linear park network as part of a major recreational precinct centred on a large perched beach. The green, park-like character of the foreshore offsets the highly urban character of the CBD island across the waterway.
