About Verdaus

Verdaus are a landscape architecture firm based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We design outdoor environments for cities in the Gulf region. Since 2004 we have delivered design solutions for residential communities, waterfront developments, university campuses, a new parliament house, opera house, and a national memorial to the founder of the United Arab Emirates. Our directors work in the studio and are actively involved with each project. We value long term relationships and most of our work is with repeat clients.

Laith Wark AILA RLA - B.B.E (L.Arch)
Principal Landscape Architect
Laith is a Registered Landscape Architect (Australian Institute of Landscape Architects) and ISA Qualified Arborist (International Society of Arboriculture). Laith  works closely with the technical team to ensure quality project delivery.

Andre Saladaga BSA
Associate
Andre is a qualified architect with close to 20 years experience in landscape architecture. Andre has extensive experience in design and post-contract stages over a wide range of projects including our most complex and large scale commissions. Andre joined Verdaus in 2006.
Nanette Lamboloto BBSA
Office Manager
Nanette holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration majoring in Management. Nanette ensures smooth operations of the Verdaus office and team. Her responsibilities cover human resources, developing and maintaining office admin systems, and assisting with preparing commercial proposals. Nanette joined Verdaus in 2007.
Manojkumar (Manoj) Balakrishnan
Landscape Technician
Manoj is a qualified Landscape Technician and has worked on several high-profile projects in the region where he has produced very high- quality construction documentation. He has worked previously with contractors and has developed a strong practical knowledge and understanding of construction detailing.Manoj joined Verdaus in 2016.
Sharif Shawky BSc.BE
Landscape Architect (Internship)
Sharif is a qualified Urban Planner with a Bachelor's degree in Science majoring in the Built Environment. Sharif also holds a certificate in Arboriculture, and a Permaculture Design License. Sharif is currently gaining a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.

Mark Richardson - M.Sc Plant Physiology
Botanical Consultant
Mark Richardson is a botanical consultant with experience in Australia, the Middle East and Asia on a wide range of horticultural and conservation projects. His experience includes the development, management and review of botanical displays and urban tree plantings, assessment of natural vegetation, the conservation of threatened plant species, the facilitation of work and training programs and policy development.

Mark’s clients have included: Australian National Botanic Gardens; National Arboretum Canberra; Oman Botanic Garden; Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research; International Centre for Biosaline Agriculture, UAE; Royal Botanic Gardens, Jordan.

Wolfram Sievert - Dipl. Ing (FH) Env. Tech
Environmental Engineer
Member - Ecological Engineering Association Germany
Wolfram Sievert is an independent environmental consultant with extensive Middle Eastern experience in the planning, design and construction management of waste water treatment systems. Wolfram specialises in natural treatment technologies, in particular reed bed sewerage treatment systems.

Laura Carnevali - M.Sc Finance

Laura Carnevali has a background as a quantitative analyst, holding an MSc in Finance. She embarked on her career at the United Nations, where she served as an analyst and made substantial contributions to agricultural projects centered around global sustainability. In 2020, Laura made a strategic pivot, combining her technical expertise with a creative inclination, and delved into the realm of generative AI and natural language processing. She passionately pushes boundaries in the domain of AI image generation. Laura's diverse expertise enables her to navigate seamlessly between the realms of cutting-edge technology and artistic expression, making her a valuable asset in the evolving landscape of AI innovation.
