At Verdaus, we’ve always been at the forefront of adopting innovative technologies. Yup, geeks to the bone. For years, we’ve been using a variety of Building Information Modelling (BIM) programs to deliver high-quality services to our clients. However, until recently, Autodesk Revit wasn’t part of our technological arsenal.
This changed when our co-consultants at Dewan Architects + Engineers, known for their highly organised and technology-driven culture, recommended we consider Revit. Several times 🙂 Their suggestion, coupled with the release of a new plugin called “Environment for Revit”, led us to get on board (thanks guys).
The “Environment for Revit” plugin is a game-changer. It provides functions that we previously had to use several different software packages to achieve. For example, we’ve been using CivilCAD3D for modelling topography and LandFX for generating planting plans and schedules. With the new plugin, these functions can be consolidated into Revit, allowing us to streamline our processes, concentrate our expertise, and reduce costs.
In line with this change, we’ve taken significant steps to ensure a smooth transition. We’ve joined the Collaboration Pro community, and joined our co-consultants in the efficient world of cloud based collaboration. (Who could not fall in love with love clash detection?)
We’ve also developed a company-wide BIM policy and a program for ongoing development. These initiatives underscore our commitment to fully integrating BIM into our operations and ensuring that our team is equipped with the skills and knowledge to leverage these tools effectively. Last but not least, we have advertised a new Revit-centric position available at Verdaus and are getting a good response from candidates.
As we fully adopt and integrate Revit into our workflow, we anticipate the evolution of a new service offering. This is an exciting time for Verdaus, and we look forward to sharing more updates as we continue to innovate and enhance our services.
